Calculator data
All calculations run in your browser. The times, names and rates you enter are encoded into the page address (the part after the # sign) so you can bookmark or share a filled-in page. That data is never sent to HourTotal's servers and we cannot see it. If you copy a link and send it to someone, they will see what you entered.
Accounts and forms
There are no accounts, logins or forms on this site. We do not collect names, email addresses or payment details.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which records standard request logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance. Cloudflare's handling of that data is described in its own privacy policy.
Advertising and cookies
HourTotal is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar technologies such as web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites, and to measure ad performance. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. Your browser's cookie controls also work. HourTotal itself does not set tracking cookies.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message before personalized ads are served, as required by Google's EU user consent policy.
Offline use
If you add the site to your home screen, your browser stores a copy of the pages so they open without a connection. This copy lives only on your device.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Questions go to the address on the contact page.
